Fernkloof Nature Reserve – 4.5km
Carnivorous Plants: Roridula Gorgonian (the Vleevanger), Sundews (Drosera Genus) 14 species in the world ,you will find 9 of them in Fernkloof. There are 3 magnificent Hikes (1 hour,2 Hour & 3 Hour) as you climb you have views of the bay. More plant species per sq km than the Amazon.
Kayaking
This is a must for the adrenalin junkies. Launch from the Old Harbour & row through the Seals, Dolphins , the odd Shark & Whales in season.
Abalone Farm – 2.7km
Situated at the New Harbour. It is a shell delicacy extremely high in protein & very low in fat. Richer than Scallop & firmer than Calamari is the draw. Common preparations are Sushi, Ceviche, Grilled, Batter frying & Sauteing.
Quad Biking
Up through Southern Right & Hamilton Russell Wine Estates to the top of Rotary Way and admire the most breathtaking view of Hermanus & taking in the bay as far as Gaansbay.
SANSA – 1km
South African National Space Agency. Hermanus Magnetic Observatory is South Africa’s National Geomagnetic Research Facility. Unfortunately only open to the public on a Wednesday 11 AM.

Hermanus is surrounded with some amazing golf courses.
Hermanus Golf Club – 3Km
Hermanus Golf Club a 27 hole pleasure along the Klein River Mountain range with views of the bay.
Arabella Golf Club – 15.8 km
The Arabella Country Estate is home to one of the top ranked golf courses in South Africa, with pristine grass, tricky sand traps and challenging water hazards on the golf estate. The Arabella golf course was recently voted the 5th best golf course in South Africa.
Kleinmond Golf Club – 25 Km

Wine Estates
We have one of the finest award winning Wine Routes in S.A , Hemel & Aarde Wine Valley on the R320. This 22km route allows views that are spectacular from each of the farm tasting rooms, either looking down or up at the vineyards of each neighbouring farms.
